My name is Jacki Kooistra. I am currently a second year teacher at East Dakota Educational Cooperative, in the High Impact program. Our program is an alternative based environment that includes students from various surrounding districts. Staff and students work hand in hand creating the best possible learning environment, while promoting positive citizenship. I teach five different Science courses spanning grades 7-12, with an average of nine students per class.
This wiki is dedicated to my work in the Success Through Assessment and Technology Grant (STAT21). Throughout the course of this grant I will be analyzing data from previous Dakota STEP scores to help increase student understanding of a standard that consistently is an area of difficulty. The course that I will place my focus upon is high school Biology.
I am excited to utilize 21st Century Skills to elevate student achievement and motivation. I know that through the incorporation of projects and technology content standard scores will benefit.
